Books To Read for a Dose of Escapism

We recently came across an article that talked about many people hitting a “pandemic wall” this week. In that vein, we started to think, “What cheers us up or provides a bit of a (much needed) escape when the going gets tough and we need a moment to breathe?” and of course, our answer was, “Reading!” Below, find three of our most devourable recent reads.

1. Royal Holiday

Jasmine Guillory is always a joy to read and her book, Royal Holiday, is no different. Follow along on Vivian Forest’s trip to England where she encounters hearts to hearts with her daughter, memories that will last a lifetime on the Queen’s estate, and of course, unexpected flirtatious banter with Malcom, the Queen’s right-hand man.

2. The Silent Patient

If you’re into thrillers (or even if you usually aren’t!) you won’t be able to put down The Silent Patient. We don't want to say too much but you can expect: A talented painter + wife turned murderess, a young psychologist determined to get to the bottom of an untimely death and a twist that you won’t be able to see coming from a mile away.

3. Nine Perfect Strangers

From the author that brought us the gem that is Big Little Lies comes Nine Perfect Strangers, a book about nine strangers that decide to spend some time at a health resort in order to work on their own individual life problems. However, they’re in for a lot more than green juice and therapy sessions. Once you start reading, consider yourself hooked.
